Big Weekend For VGP

By June 12, 2014News, Tournament

Team VGP was very active this past weekend attending events in both Dallas and Houston. Nashfan, cHaotix, and Integra made their presence felt at the A-Kon USF4 tournament on Saturday, taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, respectively. There was some really intense matches between the team mates, and you can get an early sense of how the players are adjusting to the new game in a tournament setting. Checkout some of the match vids (including the grand finals reset by Nashfan) here. Nashfan followed up his win with a solid 2nd place finish in UMVC3. He was able to get the reset on Jumpman, but Jumpman made some adjustments and won in the runback set. The next day, the trio headed down to Houston for Airbrush King’s USF4 tournament. Team VGP represented well down there also, taking 1, 2, and 3 in the exact same order as they did at A-Kon the previous day! It is clear that they are a force, and we are looking forward to continued success in 2014.

Not to be outdone by his Street Fighter counterparts, our very own VGP Fonzo, was invited down to San Antonio for the Curleh South UMVC3 Invitational. Only the very best Marvel players in the South were invited to compete in this high stakes event, and Fonzo finished with a respectable 9th place finish. Fonzo’s ever improving play makes him dangerous heading in to Evo. Be on the lookout!
